It seems to be the era of “faking it til’ you make it”. From living the life of a celebrity to mingling with the wealthy, people are going to great lengths to create a false sense of self.
I am not one that agrees with the separation of social classes, however I do believe being anything outside your true self is unacceptable. Is it safe to say this stigma of blending lifestyles and wardrobes the driving force? Could it be the knock-off frenzy that has softened the actual reality of things? Or is it simply the empty lives of bees, idolizing the buzz surrounding others?
From Bernard Madoff to the financially challenged woman across the platform with the larger than life Gucci bag – small bad habits tend to die hard. While living the good life is what we all dream of, know that your good life shouldn’t be defined by the lives of others. What’s good for you isn’t necessarily good for/to others.
‘Faking it til you make it’ like the Salahi’s and the Madoff’s won’t get you far! Imposing on a world stretching one beyond their means is a dead-end street. A short-term victory with long-term consequences. I say this to say, while the “high” life is full of glitz and glamour, know that your life can truly sparkle when you stay true to your reality.
So until you get that BIG payoff, tread wisely! You can start by creating a glamourized look for less at places like edressme.
